Nathan Zakheim & Associates is equipped to provide proper restoration for easel or mural-size paintings, frames and other art objects such as polychrome sculptures. It is the only studio in the Los Angeles area able to provide the conservation of both paintings and their frames by professional staff on the premises. We also work on site to inspect collections, assess treatment priorities and to restore murals, statues or other art objects. Often interns from the U.S. and abroad augment the permanent staff.
Whether at the studio or in the field, treatment begins with the careful examination of the object. Based on the condition of the object, its size and the degree of difficulty of required treatment, conservation costs can be estimated. During treatment, clients are encouraged to visit the studio to view the progress on objects they entrust to us. A written report and photographic documentation are given to the owner after work is completed.
We look forward to the opportunity to assist clients, whether private individuals, institutional collections, or Artists on all types and sizes of Restoration and Conservation projects. Assessments result in formal written treatment proposals which include all pricing and are provided to the client for review.

NZA is owned and operated by Nathan Zakheim who has worked in the conservation of paintings and related art objects since 1978.
